Nissan Ultma transmissions are keeping my transmission guy working 6 days a week.he loves . Nope wasn’t on a hill at all. I spotted a Nissan Dealership and pull the car into the service center. I have a 2012 Nisan Altima and the cvt transmission broke down, I contact my dealer and they gave a number for Nissan consumer affairs then I contact them I explained that my car cvt transmission started acting weird around the 20,000 miles even I let my dealer know about this issue but dealer said:”that is normal” so the answer of Nissan consumer affairs was that they can’t do nothing for me because is no recalls for this year in particular, then I ask to speak with a supervisor but I received the same answer. 10 years old! I am sad about Nissan now because I loved their car style until 2015. I have read a lot about problems with Nissan’s CVT transmission in their Altima and other car models. With Nissan having so many issues with the transmission, the least they can do is extend the transmission warranty, espcially if it has been replaced. He still owes on a car that he can’t even drive. With the air conditioning off and the windows open the car works for a longer period of time until gets hot again. The mechanical flaws with it though are the seal on the hydraulic pully going bad and leaking which leads to reduced pressure giving you irratic gear ratio changes and in turn making the steel belt slip on the pully which in turn leads to burnt fluid and pulley damage. Would press on gas and would only go like 3 mph then gear would kick in. Well took it home and the next day car wouldnt start. nissan was best cars but now most people find out that issue with transmission problems , Or a Chevy…, Or, pretty much anything else. It is comfortable, gives a smooth ride, quiet until you get up to 70mph or thereabouts. By October of 2015 with only 19,000 miles on the vehicle, it started to make an audible wheezing/high pitched whining after about an hour of highway driving…and engine block heating. Nissan should fix these vehicles because they admitted there was a problem with it. Toyota at least does routine warranty checks and updates people when they see obvious problems in their vehicles. No Subaru, no Honda, No Nissan, no Mitsubishi. I can see if he bought it from a private owner but this was from there dealership!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have been to Nissan dealership repeatedly since purchasing for transmission problems. I have been advised that the transmission in my 2010 Altima needs to be replaced. Bringing in my car for service. SOLVED ALL MY PROBLEMS IN MY OLD CIVIC . Appears to be common as well as complete trans failure at 75 to 100k miles. Camshaft sensor was replaced car ran for about 3000 miles then check engine light came on again. Took it to the Nissan dealer for a diagnostic check and low and below they told me it needed a transmission. But the book states to only take it to a Honda Dealer !! They tell me the replacement transmission only had a 12000 mile warranty or a 1 year.
