The likelihood is that these same players will still need to make early decisions, but they won’t have the luxury of getting to see every place that they want in person. I understand that balance is different for a Texas vs a school like Nebraska or Oklahoma where you have far less in-state talent.I don’t think you’ll see a surge in in-state offers just yet but if this carries on for much longer and it appears as though summer visits will be off the table as well, I’d expect to see even more in-state offers (and Texas has already made plenty).Lower-rated guys that Texas took late in the 2020 cycle like Jaylan Ford, Sawyer Goram-Welch, and Dajon Harrison, will likely become priorities much earlier in this 2021 due to this.Texas has really utilized the Austin social scene as a way to lure high-end recruits to campus. At the end of the day, and especially for in-state kids, the Texas name carries more weight than the remaining in-state or regional schools.
