As such, the Fire made their new look official as they unveiled their new logo and the rest of their visual identity. Chicago Fire FC was founded as Chicago Fire Soccer Club on October 8, 1997. If Fire fans continue to make their displeasure known, then this new logo may not be long for this world. In addition to general sports logo and uniform talk, I also regularly write about baseball for SB Nation’s Talking Chop, SB Nation MLB, and Baseball Prospectus. However, it seems as if the supporters are standing for Chicago in a different way than what the team envisioned. While the club itself is clearly proud of what they came up with and there was clearly a lot of time and effort put into this identity, it’s worth at least revisiting the whole idea of a change if the fan response is so overwhelmingly negative like it has been so far. A new era for Chicago Fire FC will begin on the road, where forward CJ Sapong and company will play their first three games of the 2020 MLS season. The 2020 Chicago Fire FC season is the club's 25th year of existence, as well as their 23rd in Major League Soccer. This is the Fire's first full year under the ownership of Joe Mansueto following his purchase of the club on September 13, 2019. A new era for Chicago Fire FC will begin on the road, where forward CJ Sapong and company will play their first three games of the 2020 MLS season. One of those is the official name, which changed from Chicago Fire Soccer Club to Chicago Fire Football Club.
The result is a blue-oval logo with CHICAGO on top and FIRE FC on the bottom written in gold. Chicago's previous badge was based on the Florian Cross, which is a symbol widely used by firefighters. Future brand elements and kit designs will feature secondary colors of ivory and "flag blue," a nod to the city's beloved flag. The secondary jersey was launched by Chicagoland rock band Plain White T's, best known for their quadruple-platinum song "Hey there Delilah" that earned them a pair of Grammy nominations. The jersey will also feature a unique Stand for Chicago" patch series that will feature 12 different patches over the course of the season, each showcasing iconography or phrases that are unique to Chicago. Ever since 2011, I have been blogging about logos and uniforms. The new badge including the Fire Crown represents that spirit.”Lane Tech runners are just two of several thousand students who plan to participate in IHSA-regulated fall sports, which are scheduled to begin Aug. 10.The 78-year-old Utah man was driving a blue 2007 Honda motorcycle on the ramp from I-94 to the Lake Forest Oasis when he hit a parked semi on the right shoulder, officials said. The festival founder called in favors from big-name friends to secure footage for the free online showcase, with its emphasis on charity missions and civic engagement. The response to the replacement was swift and decidedly negative. In Thursday’s statement, the Fire said “[new] brands take time and repetition to build meaning. The bottom three triangles are red and represent the Great Chicago Fire, and the top three are gold and represent the modern-day city and its people. The new logo was met with criticism, but despite the feedback, the Fire are sticking with the new look. The negative and visceral response isn’t a surprise. The Chicago Fire unveiled their new identity on Thursday, revealing the club’s new primary badge and brand ahead of their 2020 move to Soldier …
It’s not a good look for the Fire and the fans are right to reject the logo since it’s a sizable downgrade from what they’ve had since making their entrance into MLS for the 1998 season.Even though Major League Soccer is still a very young league in the grand scheme of the things when it comes to the sport, this is still a league that has fans who are proud of cultivating traditions for the clubs that they support.
