Linda Ronstadt was one of the very first contemporary rock artists to pay homage to the great American Songbook by recording some of the most iconic classic songs of the 30s 40s and 50s. The phenomenal success of WHAT'S NEW led to a 2nd album, LUSH LIFE(another platinum seller)and to a third, FOR SENTIMENTAL REASONS, during whose recording sessions, Nelson Riddle passed away.
Style: Vocal. Recorded in 1983 this afforded her the opportunity to work with the legendary arranger and conductor Nelson Riddle and his Orchestra- the very people who appeared on many of the original recordings.
The time of delivery was excellent (May 9th) and it arrived in good shape. It represents the first in a trilogy of 1980s albums Ronstadt recorded with bandleader/arranger Nelson Riddle.
Instead of trying to compete with a newer, fashion-conscious pop marketplace, Linda Ronstadt removed herself from the rat race, recording an album of traditional pop standards with Nelson Riddle.
