I have had no success with clinch or improved clinch knots. Both knots probably owe their strength to the double pass through the hook eye as this spreads the pull load across a wider surface area. The Trilene Knot usually tests at 95 percent or more of the unknotted line. Trim off the loop and tag ends.
Last week I tried going through the swivel three times and that worked better, but occasionally leaves loops.
