I have been using my Sony A5100's spot meter, and I had the impression that I tend to underexpose when using the values from the A5100 as guidelines. This results in overexposure between 2 and 4 stops when compared to a simple matrix matereing of the scene.

The color palette lightens up considerably and shifts more towards pastel. With film the more you expose the more contrast you get in the shot...unlike digital sensors.I like the fact that I can choose my film simulation (picture style) before pressing the shutter, as part of the picture composing.This suggest actual comes from a reply to one of my post.What's the best camera for under $500? Applying a film sim via Lightroom requires as near zero effort as it gets.That preset will come quite close with the only alternative being...just shoot film, which I fully support!!
I recommended Astia but try it with Neg Standard or Neg High (with DR200 and +1EV).The VSCO film packs are quite good.In any event, no film simulation is going to give identical results to the film -- it's more about giving the same general feeling.
