The Kreh Loop is definitely better for that. It also works well with fluorocarbon fishing line. According to him the uni-knot has 85%-90% knot strength. However, the downfall is that it leaves a weed-catching tag end that sticks straight up and is slightly more difficult to tie. The uni knot is very easy to tie, unlike the the FG Knot which can get much weaker if you make mistakes tying it.
After a quick search, I see that it is tied very similar to the Kreh loop knot except that the twists around the line are in the opposite direction (towards the overhand knot vs. away from it).We are working on a new knot post for this Thursday and we will make a point to do this.
